If you love the festive build-up to Christmas, you can’t beat Germany as a winter destination. There are more than 60 German Christmas markets to enjoy, but the biggest and most well-known are in Cologne and Berlin, with Dresden’s Striezelmarkt being the oldest.
The sweet aroma of mulled wine and stollen cake fills the air as you amble among stalls selling everything from Christmas decorations to handmade toys. Trees and log cabins throughout the markets are decorated with fairy lights, baubles (and often a light dusting of snow), making the atmosphere undeniably festive.
Join us on our German Christmas Markets trip and you’ll enjoy city tours of Berlin, Frankfurt and Nuremberg, as well as visits to the festive markets including Dresden and Weimar.
