Visit a local market in Surquillo where Sebastian will explain how Peruvian fruits and vegetable are the bases of diverse Peruvian cooking. Afterward, visit Barranco’s Museum of Contemporary Art’s restaurant for a Welcome Reception and A Be My Guest lunch of dif erent Peruvian dishes, such as Aji de Gallina and Lomo Saltado, created just for you by Sebastian and the restaurant owner. After lunch, start Your city tour of the highlights of Lima with a Local Expert . Enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Lima’s ancient districts and visit the Church of San Francisco, the most notable group of colonial buildings in the city.     Fly to Cusco this morning. On the drive to the Sacred Valley, stop to meet a Shaman who will perform a Pago a la Tierra (Payment to Mother Earth) ceremony, an ancient ritual of the Andean culture and a A Unique Insight , to welcome you to Cusco and bless your trip. Afterward, stop to visit an animal rescue sanctuary, a Unique Insight , in Cochahuasi where animals such as vicuñas, alpacas, llamas, and Andean condors are being protected and rehabilitated. Then you will learn about the natural dyeing techniques native weavers from dif erent areas use as they show their various weaving styles and way of dress, a A Local Speciality .     SACRED VALLEY - MACHU PICCHU

    Head toward Machu Picchu aboard the Vistadome train (light snack included). Panoramic views of the valley and mountains are sure to delight. Once you arrive at this UNESCO World Heritage Site, explore the stunning ruins of this once-great fortress with a Local Expert . Visit the great Temple of the Sun, the House of the Priest, the Sacred Plaza and the intricately carved Intihuatana.     Much of the day is free for independent activities. Optional experiences include a visit to one of the nearby favellas, a harbour cruise or helicopter fightseeing over copacabana. Later this afternoon, head over to a Samba school where a representative of the school, a A Local Expert, will give insight into how the school operates and how they prepare for Carnival week. You’ll also be able to view Carnival costumes and for those that desire, participate in a dance lesson accompanied by a musical Samba Trio and a few Mulata dancers. Afterward, visit a renowned churrascaria with amazing views of Rio and the ocean, for a festive Farewell Dinner complete with a caipirinha mixing demonstration, a Local Speciality.

    Adult Price: $63.00 This world class award winning restaurant, hosted by renowned chef Jaime Pesaque, is located in front of the Cathedral in Plaza de Armas and is one of Cusco’s most popular. It has a bright and cozy atmosphere that features Peruvian cuisine consisting of fresh, mostly Andean ingredients. Appetizer, main course, dessert, pisco sour and coffee/tea are included in the meal.   • MORAY AND MORAS

    Adult Price: $165.00 A short drive from Cusco, you will visit Moray, the Inca agricultural greenhouse or laboratory that consists of four platforms that seem to disappear into a crater. At a depth of 500 feet (150 meters), the overlapping concentric circular stone rings widen as they rise. It was an experimental location the Incas used to study the adaptation of plants with agriculture. Next is the village of Maras, renowned for its ancient salt mines and wells. The salt has been used for economic purposes since the time of the Inca. You will meet the villagers who explain ancient salt mining techniques and have a chance to participate. Your group lesson will be in the San Telmo neighborhood (Tango's birthplace) in a unique residence that features an eclectic architectural style and filled with art nouveau crafts and paintings. Long before stones were laid down to build Machu Picchu; the indigenous people of what is now Peru were constructing huacas (pyramid-like structures) for ceremonial purposes. Lima was constructed on top of these huacas. Your local guide will take you to two sites, Huaca Pucllana and Huaca Huallamarca, and provide historical insight into these temples that were built by an unknown indigenous pre-Incan civilization.   • MAGIC CIRCUIT OF THE WATER

    Adult Price: $23.00 The Magic Circuit of the Water is the world's largest fountain complex of beautiful interactive fountains featuring swaying water, colored lights and lasers which dance with the music rhythm. The Magic Fountain forces water to a height of more than 250 feet (80 meters) while the Children’s Fountain features a 130 foot (35 meters) walk through tunnel.   • PACHACAMAC

    Adult Price: $36.00 Pachacamac is located around 30 km (19 mi) south of Lima and was constructed around 700 A.D. It was the most important ceremonial center on the Peruvian Coast during the pre-Inca and Inca period. The early inhabitants came here to worship and give offerings to their God “Pachacamac”, who was believed to be the creator of the world and all its creatures. The site includes several clay buildings including palaces, plazas and temples.   • VALPARAISO AND VINA DEL MAR

    Adult Price: $71.00 A full day trip to the historic city of Valparaiso, designated a UNESCO World Heritage city in 2003. You will first travel through Chile’s wine country before arriving in bohemian Valparaiso, with its brightly colored buildings, hills and beautiful seaside setting. Later head north and visit the seaside resort of Vina del Mar, renowned for its beach setting and beautiful gardens. Total duration is 9-10 hours.
