"Another first rate performance"
Glenn , Jun 2014

Treading the paths of the Incas and their ancestors, we uncover the symbols of Peru, from Lake Titicaca to Machu Picchu, travelling in comfort to this World Heritage Site aboard the Vistadome train.

It’s insider moments like… sailing across Lake Titicaca to the foating reed islands of the Uros Indians with an expert introducing you to the native Quechua-speaking villagers. We take a closer look at the treasures left behind at Machu Picchu, getting a unique view of life there from more than 360 artefacts found in 1912 and now housed at La Casa Concha Museum in Cusco. And, of course, we try authentic Peruvian food and drink – like the local favourite chicha, a drink made only by women, which we enjoy at a local chicheria.

The site includes several clay buildings including palaces, plazas and temples. This optional experience can only be offered if you arrive the morning of Day 1 of your guided vacation or if you have purchased extra nights.
