The Emerald Isle has a funny way of casting a spell on all travelers lucky enough to explore her shores. From the dramatic and towering cliffs of Moher to the buzzing streets of Dublin, our Ireland tours offer an unforgettable experience where lush green landscapes, a rich history, and warm and friendly people collide.
We thought we’d ask our past guests to share some of the magic of Ireland, recounting their own experiences traveling across the Emerald Isle. Let’s take a look through the eyes of those who have already crossed the Irish countryside, stomped through historic castles, and danced a jig with the friendly locals.
Ireland has a way of sweeping those who visit up in its charm, and Trafalgar’s Ireland tours are designed to show you the best, from the cities to the coast to the countryside, making for one unforgettable journey. But don’t just take our word for it. Let’s hear from past Trafalgar guests who share the extraordinary Ireland adventures that hold a special place in their memories. We hope their experiences will inspire your own Irish adventure!
Ken would move to Ireland in a heartbeat
“Trafalgar took my wife and me through Ireland. Thanks Maeve, Taylor, and Stevie for the best vacation we have ever taken,” says past guest Ken
When asked what was his favorite memory from his Ireland tour, Ken said: “Two things. The Cliffs of Mohr, closely followed by the Ring of Kerry, and the friendliness of the people.
“My wife and I both said if we didn’t have family here in the United States we would have packed up and moved to Ireland.”
Playing chess in a castle
“The highlight of our Ireland tour was staying at the Ashford Castle where we felt like royalty. This included staying in elegantly decorated rooms, experiencing having a hawk land on your hand when called, dining in the George V dining room and taking a morning walk with Irish Wolfhounds,” says past guest Louise
”When we first arrived at the castle, we were brought into the game room that had a billiards table and chess table set up for us to enjoy. When my two daughters sat down to play chess on the red velvet oversized chairs with the large portrait of two girls, a boy, and a dog, I took out my camera to capture this moment.”
“Seeing Ireland by bus was incredible”
“Seeing Ireland by bus was incredible,” says past guest Robert.
“Day one of travel on bus allowed for recovery of jet lag. The rest of trip was enjoyable as Peter, the tour guide gave lots of interesting information about the areas we traveled through.
“I highly recommend this way to see a foreign country as everything was arranged.”
Creativity in Irish cuisine
“It was a delicious treat to dine at Ballyknocken Cooking School. The old, farm cottage was filled with antiques and a warm welcome,” says past guest Maria.
“The owner and TV star served us a three-course meal sourced mostly from her clearly adored garden. I love these special glimpses into creative, local people and their lives – as well as the food!”
Back to his Ireland roots, says Bob
“Visited my ancestral homeland twice,” says past guest Bob.
“Both Ireland tours were awesome!! The landscape is breathtaking, the people are extremely friendly and the accommodations charming!
“Give yourself a special treat visit Ireland.”
Solo travel across Ireland
“I am a solo traveler and I went to Ireland & Scotland with Trafalgar,” says past guest Deborah.
“It was just wonderful. I made friends in the group too that I still keep in touch with. I recommend it highly. It was so well planned and the side tours are great too.
“I have a 13-day trip coming up in Italy with Trafalgar and I can’t wait.”
