Bucket list destinations open to travellers in 2022

Dreaming of seeing the world but want to know what dream destinations from your bucket list are open to visitors? We’ve got you covered. From the plains of Kenya to the streets of New York and the beaches of India, here are seven dream bucket list destinations that are open for 2022 travel.

Egypt

Who hasn’t fantasised about a trip to Egypt? This ancient cradle of civilisation is full of showstoppers from the Great Pyramids at Giza, the grand temples and tombs at Luxor and Aswan, the medieval treasures of Alexandria, the mighty Nile River, and the stunning beaches. Plus, the long-awaited Grand Egyptian Museum is set to open in Cairo in the summer of 2022.

Even better, Egypt is now open to visitors who can show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 96 hours of arrival. Travellers must also show proof of health insurance and complete a personal monitoring card.

Kenya

Picture majestic lions, elephants, tigers, and giraffes wandering across the great plains of Kenya. Imagine going on safari to spot the Big Five in the Masai Mara or seeing endangered rhinos in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. From snow-capped mountains to lush jungle and blissful beaches, Kenya is open for you to visit in 2022.

Kenya is also now open to travellers, with all visitors required to present proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 96 hours before travel.

New York City, USA

Are you dreaming of being a part of it? Well, start spreading the news… New York City is one of those long haul dream destinations that will be open for travel in 2022.

There’s too much to do in NYC, from scaling the Empire State Building and exploring Central Park, to seeing shows on Broadway and shopping ‘til you drop on Fifth Avenue. While vaccinated travellers can currently enter the US, restrictions are quickly changing. From 8 November 2021, all those flying to the US must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours before departure.

Morocco

Did you know that Morocco is open for 2022 travel? There are endless things to see and do in Morocco from the gorgeous cities of Marrakesh, Casablanca and Fes, to the stunning Sahara Desert and High Atlas Mountains. Whether you want to see the beaches, explore the vibrant markets, indulge in the delicious cuisine, camp in the desert, or admire the beautiful architecture, you’re sure to have a blast in Morocco.

The country is also now open to visitors, and you’ll need to provide proof of full vaccination with the second dose administered at least two weeks prior to travel. You’ll also need to present a negative PCR test taken no more than 48 hours before boarding and complete a Public Health Passenger form.

Montreal, Canada

If you’ve always wanted to explore the beautiful, French-speaking region of Quebec in Canada, now’s your chance. Montreal is the largest city in Quebec and also one of the best, with gorgeous architecture, lovely parks, buzzing streets, and incredible food… Including those sweet sugar shacks.

While tourists can now enter Canada, the restrictions depend on your vaccination status. If you’re fully vaccinated, you’ll need to present proof of vaccination and a negative COVID test.

If white sandy beaches, blazing desert, lavish hotels and restaurants, and towering megamalls sound like your ultimate escape, you’re in luck. Dubai is one of those long haul destinations that’s currently open for travel.

Plus, Dubai is one of the most vaccinated cities in the world and is open to travellers. You must have travel insurance and you’ll need to produce a negative PCR test certificate taken within 72 hours of departure. Time to pull out your swimsuits!

India

Everyone should experience India. From the incredible Taj Mahal, the vibrant streets of Delhi and the rose-coloured city of Jaipur, to the stunning beaches of Goa, the lush waters of Kerala and the sacred Ganges River, there are endless treasures to explore in India.
