Why a holiday is the perfect way to bond with the family

With a long stretch of lockdowns, we’ve found ourselves not being able to see our extended family properly for quite some time. As we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel with restrictions easing, we can get planning a well overdue reunion. And there’s no better way to reconnect with loved ones than on a family holiday.

1. A reunion like no other

It’s time to treat yourself to a family reunion that really has that WOW-factor. After spending so much time in each other’s gardens over the past year, we’re ready for a change of scenery and the opportunity to embrace experiences with each other that don’t include a picnic blanket and BBQ. We’re ready to get those endorphins pumping around the body again, and travel with the family can deliver exactly that!

2. It’s not virtual!

Whilst it had been essential to keep us in contact with family and friends, it’s no secret that we have all become fatigued with the virtual world – there are only so many virtual quizzes we can face! As humans we crave interaction and love making memories, even if they might be socially distanced. We’re more than ready for a little face-to-face time with those that mean the most to us, and can’t wait to start filling the photo albums back up.

3. A feast for the senses

Sights, scents and sounds leave a lasting impression – all it takes is for a smell of freshly baked pizza to flow through the air, and memories of a balmy summer evening in Florence come to mind. Bellissimo! From the sounds of tropical wildlife on a cruise through the lagoons in Costa Rica, to the incredible visual grandeur of the Grand Canyon in the USA, a family holiday is packed full of experiences that are a feast for all the senses.

4. Inspire curiosity

With so many multisensory new experiences packed into a family holiday, it’s the ultimate place to inspire the younger members of the family. Roleplay as a brave Roman soldier with unique family experiences at Hadrian’s Wall and really bring to history to life. Budding explorers will appreciate, not just the cultures they visit, but also the quality time they get to spend with their family on vacation.
