A month-long period of fasting from dawn till dusk, Ramadan takes place in the ninth. Month of the Islamic calendar. Considered one of the holiest months of the year for Muslims, it’s one of the most important religious festivals in Asia.

Diwali, known as India’s annual festival of lights, takes place in fall for around 5 days – and it’s a truly magical time to visit as the country is illuminated with homes full of lights, colorful flowers and firecrackers filling the skies.

Chinese New Year (also known as Lunar New Year) is celebrated across in East and Central Asia, making it one of the most widespread Asia events. It involves family reunions, grand feasts, giving and receiving red envelopes with money, and visiting temples.

Eid marks the end of Ramadan, and is the first time Muslims can eat during daylight hours after the month-long fast. Friends and families come together to celebrate Eid with food, drink and gifts.

Mainly celebrated in India, Holi Festival is certainly one of the most colorful festivals in Asia. The Hindu celebration celebrates spring, love, and new life with street parties and paint throwing, as crowds cover each other in paint.
