6 reasons why your next trip should be a visit to California

With glorious sunshine, ample opportunity for adventure and an amazing food scene, California is an incredible destination that offers an abundance of attractions for travellers of all ages. 1. National Parks

Sunny California is home to over nine National Park – more than any other state in the United States of America. From Joshua Tree National Park, Yosemite National Park and Death Valley National Park, each National Park is completely different from the next with captivating views and scenery that will have you visiting again and again. From hiking day trips to week-long camping adventures, each National Park is truly something to see. 2. Wine Country

Napa Valley, located in Northern California, is one of the world’s most famous regions for wine and home to hundreds of hillside vineyards. 3. Weather

California is a year-round destination making it the perfect bucket list destination to explore! The weather in the Golden State changes month-to-month depending on the season of the region. Much of the state is classified as a Mediterranean climate, with warm and sunny summers and cooler wet winters. Typically, most travellers explore California during the summer months (June to August) when the weather is warm and dry. However, during autumn (September to November) some parts of the state see a dip in temperatures, making for the perfect hiking conditions. During the winter months, travellers can even enjoy suiting up and skiing the stunning hills around the state, including Lake Tahoe – a winter lover’s paradise. 

4. Food

When many people think of California, they picture beautiful beaches, surfers in waves and stunning sunshine. But, did you know that the Golden State is also home to some of the best food in the world? Whether you’re interested in experiencing innovative restaurants or delicious food truck fare, California offers some incredible dining experiences that will satisfy your taste buds. 

5. Amusement Parks

For travellers looking for a thrill on a roller coaster, to be captivated during a live theatrical show or to cool off in a splash pad, the Golden State has a theme park for everyone that is closer to home than you think. Along with the larger and well-known parks such as Disneyland, Legoland, Pacific Park on Santa Monica Pier and Universal Studios Hollywood, California is also home to smaller parks around the state including Adventure City in Anaheim, or Castle Park in Riverside. Be sure to check your desired amusement or theme park ahead of time for their latest updates and policies.

6. Iconic Landmarks

An adventure in your backyard, California would not be complete without exploring Los Angeles – home to numerous well-known iconic landmarks including the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where you can walk amongst the stars, take a hike to the top of the Hollywood Sign and snap an iconic picture. Or, keep your eyes peeled for stars while driving down Sunset Strip to Beverly Hills. Also, a trip to California would not be complete without a visit to San Francisco to witness the well-known landmark, the Golden Gate Bridge which spans over 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers).
