Recently updated on August 14th, 2023 at 04:13 pm

As the world begins to open up and vaccination programs continue to roll out, many of us are starting to seriously consider where to go in 2021, 2022 or beyond, to make up for lost time. Given the pandemic and the continued need for distancing, we expect keen travellers to be gravitating to countries with wide open spaces that allow for natural social distancing, where you can soak in the beauty of great outdoors.

From Europe to Asia to Africa and everything in between, here’s our pick of the must visit 2021 or 2022 travel destinations.

Hawaii

The Aloha state in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean is one of the top places on our travel destinations list. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind and disconnect after the year that was 2020. Friendly locals, incredible scenery, stunning beaches, adventure activities and fresh, tasty food are a few reasons to pop Hawaii on your 2021 travel destinations list. Every island is different and hopping between them is the best way to truly experience pure Hawaii.

Costa Rica

Tropical rainforests, sandy beaches and towering volcanoes make Costa Rica the ultimate outdoor vacation and a perfect 2021 or 2022 travel destination. Make friends with sloths, toucans, monkeys and our Travel Director as you explore this beautiful country. And pack your adventurous side – this is the place to try river rafting, canyoning and zip lining.

Switzerland

High in the mountains it feels like there is nothing more pure than Swiss air. Switzerland is more than just chocolate, watches and skiing. In the summertime you can ride the world’s steepest cog-wheel railway up Mount Pilatus. The little red train has been huffing and puffing up a 48% incline to the summit since 1889. It’s one of the best ways to take in the alpine meadows and striking rock formations.

New Zealand

The moment New Zealand reopens its borders to international travellers we suspect people will flock to its far flung islands in the Pacific. The small country is well known for its incredible variety of breathtaking scenery, volcanic landscapes, incredible fjords and glaciers, and lush beaches. It’s no wonder they chose to film all three Lord of the Rings movies there.

Guests get to experience the adorable Alberobello in the south, and the great Italian lakes and Venice in the north. Can anyone else smell pasta with parmigiano?

US National Parks

Journey past the icy peaks of the Grand Tetons, bubbling mudpots of Yellowstone, the eerie hoodoos of Bryce Canyon to Zion National Park, groves of larger-than-life sequoias in the Land of Giants, and the inferno of Death Valley (just to name a few). The National Parks of the United States are home to some of the world’s great wonders. If you’re wondering where to go in 2021 or 2022, pop a park tour on your list.
