Recently updated on July 18th, 2023 at 11:30 am

Small group tours have always been a great way to travel, and in today’s world as we are all more conscious of our wellbeing and physical distancing, they’re the perfect option to help you start exploring the world again. With all the planning taken care of, plus extra space and your own dedicated support team, small group tours make it easy to travel again. And the best news? For 2021, you now have the option to travel with Trafalgar on a small group tour of 26 people or less!

From perfectly planned itineraries to sharing the joy of travel with others, here are 6 benefits to small group travel in today’s world.

1. You don’t have to worry about planning

From transfers, hotels and activities, to new currency, languages and customs, planning a holiday can get a little overwhelming. Now add on COVID-19 issues like border closures, travel restrictions and physical distancing measures, and your holiday planning just got even trickier. One of the top benefits of travelling on a small group vacation in today’s world is knowing all these logistics are taken care of.

When you travel on a Trafalgar small group tour, you’ll travel worry-free and with complete ease on a perfectly planned itinerary. From the moment you book your trip, we take care of it all and take care of you. So all you have to do is kick back and enjoy your trip without a worry in the world.

2. You’ll enjoy extra space when travelling

Travelling in today’s world will mean fewer crowds and more distance between you and other travellers. Physical distancing is one of the best ways to maintain your wellbeing, as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Our small group tours have a maximum of 20 guests on Africa and Asia small group tours, and up to 26 guests across Europe, Britain, USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Even better, all our trips will run with a number of empty seats on our exclusive luxury coaches to allow for extra physical distancing. Your support team will always be available during boarding and disembarkation of the coach to ensure compliance with physical distancing. So enjoy that extra wiggle room!

3. You’ll have the support of a dedicated team

One of the top benefits of travelling on a small group tour with Trafalgar is having access to our 24/7 on-trip and behind-the-scenes support team, including your Travel Director, Driver and Wellbeing Director.

Our Wellbeing Directors are an industry innovation for 2021 travel and you’ll meet your WD on our trips of 20 or more guests (excluding Australia and New Zealand trips). Their job is to support the Travel Director and Driver Team to ensure adherence to hygiene and physical distancing measures – so you can travel with extra peace of mind.

Along with your Wellbeing Director, both your Travel Director and Driver are trained in enhanced hygiene and distancing standards. They monitor guest wellbeing and ensure all coach surfaces are disinfected throughout your trip.

On top of your on-road team, you’ll also have access to a global around-the-clock support team. The team is on-call 24/7 and are always up to date and adjust to changing regulations from health authorities. They make the changes behind the scenes, so you can travel worry-free.

4. Your wellbeing will be the priority when travelling

We all want to get travelling again, but wellbeing is the number one concern. When you travel in today’s world, you’ll encounter an enhanced approach to wellbeing, including extra hygiene and physical distancing.

When you travel on a small group tour with Trafalgar, your wellbeing is our top priority. We’ve introduced our 3-step approach to travel wellbeing protocol, which includes constant global support, distancing and hygiene protocols, and 24/7 incident reports. We collaborated with the World Tourism & Travel Council (WTTC) to create global protocols and procedures which have been awarded the WTTC Safe stamp.

Our enhanced, on-trip protocols also follow existing national and regional government authority regulations and WHO guidelines. All this gives you the peace of mind to enjoy your trip, knowing you are in good hands.

5. You’ll get to see the in-depth best of your destination

Travelling in the new world means you’re more likely to stay in one region or country. And that means you’ll have more time to uncover the very best of that destination.

Our expert team has introduced new ‘Near Not Far’ staycations and domestic trips across destinations including the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. They’ve also optimised all our trips with the latest openings and information to ensure you get the most out of your trip.

We also offer Make a Difference experiences that directly support the people and places we visit.

On top of that, you’ll get insider’s knowledge from our passionate Local Specialists. They’ll share hot tips that you just don’t get in a guidebook, from the best restaurants to fascinating local stories.

6. You’ll make new friends and share the experience

One of the best things about travel is making friends! If you’re keen to start reconnecting with people, there’s no better way than with a small group tour. You’ll get to prioritise your wellbeing with a small group, plus you’ll get to share your trip with like-minded people.

As you travel together, you’ll bond over your incredible experiences and make some unforgettable memories. Plus, you’ll always have someone to snap that perfect photo. Because the next best thing to travel is reminiscing about your travels with friends and family.

Like the idea of small group tours but would rather travel exclusively with just friends and family as a private group? We have good news! We also offer Private group tours.
