China is one of the world’s oldest civilisations, with 5,000 years of history and culture under its belt. Its great sights are famous the world over and include the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, and the Terracotta Warriors.

But what’s more challenging is getting to the heart of what everyday life is like in this indomitable nation. That’s why we give you the chance to take a ride through the capital’s ancient alleyways on a rickshaw to visit the home of a Chinese family where you will eat a delicious traditional lunch.

You’ll gain an insight into the nation’s artistry through cookery, tai chi classes and experience a traditional foot massage.
