What to pack for a tour in Athens
Consider your environmental impact when you next take a trip and go single-use-plastic-free by packing a reusable water bottle, a steel straw, your own shopping bags and refillable toiletry bottles.
Spring (April–June) and fall (September–October) offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and mild temperatures around 70–80°F (21–27°C).
Athens has a Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers (85–95°F / 29–35°C) and mild, wet winters (45–55°F / 7–13°C).
The Euro (€) is the official currency. Credit cards are widely accepted, though small shops may prefer cash.
Greece uses Type C and F plugs, 230 V supply. Bring a universal adaptor.
Tipping is appreciated but not obligatory. Round up the bill in cafés, or leave 5–10% in restaurants.
