The first step in planning the perfect babymoon is finding the best destination for your trip. You might want to embrace a relaxed and romantic mood before your baby arrives, so research destinations with epic scenery, sophisticated restaurants and easy sunset walks – these are things you won’t be able to enjoy so much once baby arrives!
The best babymoon vacation destinations are relaxed and romantic. We love the tranquil Italian lakes, the gorgeous scenery of Switzerland, the soothing beaches of Portugal, and the magical Plitvice Lakes in Croatia and Lake Bled in Slovenia. We also love reconnecting with nature in Australia and New Zealand and getting a dose of inspiration in Morocco.
The term ‘babymoon’ was coined by British author Sheila Kitzinger in her 1996 book ‘The Year after Childbirth’. It was originally defined as the period of time after a baby’s birth that the family spends alone with the baby to encourage bonding, but the concept has since grown to include the kid-less vacations expecting parents take before their little one arrives and the non-stop feeding and nappy changing begins.
