We did indeed hit the highlights of Slovenia and Croatia based on my own research and advice from friends who'd previously visited these countries. The optional activities were also selected well and provided us with some experiences we may not have gotten if touring on our own. My only regret is that the trip wasn't longer!
Our guides did an excellent job of managing the trip. They were a wealth of local knowledge, helped us understand local customs, made sure our accommodations were ready for us on time and the check-in process was smooth, and did an excellent job of making the trip not only informative but fun as well. Our driver did an exceptional job of navigating some of the narrowest streets I think all of us have seen and our Wellness director did a great job keeping all of us healthy!
This is my 2nd Trafalgar Tour and the high bar is now set. This Tour was an oasis in the 18 mos of the travel desert. I wanted to go on a trip that didn't require me to think and Trafalgar met every expectation. Trafalgar packed so much and thoroughly into the Best of Croatia & Slovenia itinerary I felt I had a complete experience and left nothing to be desired. As I post photos on social media to an audience of very well traveled friends, many are amazed to how much I saw and experienced through this Tour. More importantly, traveling as a single traveler, many of my female friends are VERY interested in my experience and how safe I felt. What was even better than the thorough itinerary, Trafalgar seem to have the best Tour Teams. The dynamic trio of Goran (Tour Director), Hannah (Health Director) and Nikoli (driver) left very little to be desired. The thorough knowledge and professionalism balanced with their personal touches kept the Tour fresh and interesting.
Excellent on-road team made our travel truly memorable: Goran, our superb TD, was detail-oriented, courteous, caring, patient and clearly loved people & his job; Hannah, our WD, was diligent, watchful & cheerful, reassuring us all; Nikola's amazing driving skills and energy were appreciated at all times. The hidden gems and surprise treats picked by our TD were wonderful. The local specialists were personable & informative.
Croatia/Slovenia Tour was the best organized tour I've been on. Our guide was an encyclopedia of information about the history and controversies of the area and since he is from this place he was passionate about it's history. Goran was attentive and caring to everyone regardless of their age or ability. I felt very, very safe at all times. My questions were always answered and the organization of the tours was inpeccable. I recommend Goran 100 percent

What is an Active Trip? This is an "Active" lifestyle itinerary, with walks and hikes most days. Hikes will range from easy/moderate to strenuous. No technical climbing skills are required but a reasonable level of fitness is required to make the trip more enjoyable. Understanding that not all people want to hike at the same pace or even on the same trail we will, where possible, host map orientation and then let everyone disperse to enjoy the trails best suited to them.
What to Pack Guests should bring lightweight hiking shoes or boots, broad brimmed sun hats, sunglasses, layered clothing, reusable water bottle(s), a hiking day pack and hiking poles (optional)
Weather & Altitude While the itinerary is laid out below, we are at the mercy of the weather and so reserve the right to adjust the program as necessary. Please keep in mind that the higher elevations and possible variations in weather and temperature can increase the perceived level of difficulty of our activities. Elevation ranges up to 9,000 feet for Utah’s Mighty Five and up to 11,000 feet for California High Country Adventure.
Everyone reacts differently to altitude and so if you do have any health issues you should check with your doctor that this trip is suitable for you.
