Sitting in the shadow of the mountains is Thailand’s second city. Chaing Mai is a relaxed, down-to-earth place, home to a quaint old quarter surrounded by a moat and 300 Buddhist temples.
As the city is famous for its craftwork, we’ll take you to Sankampaeng, where you’ll be able to watch the artisans in their workshops. You’ll visit Queen Sirikit’s Botanic Garden and Orchid Farm, a glorious 560-acre conservation reserve of exotic local flora. In the village of Ban Mae Kampong you’ll meet our Local Specialist the chief, who’ll talk to you about village culture and life, before joining a family for a home-cooked lunch. Visit the village school and a temple, as well as tea and coffee plantations and Mae Kampong waterfall.
