In England, the low sound of water against the boat accompanies your Lake District cruise before you visit William Shakespeare’s birthplace in Stratford-upon-Avon. You can pause before Stonehenge’s monoliths, then sit down for a Dine-at-Home Experience at York’s Thirsk Hall, an 18th-century town house renovated by English architect John Carr.
