Generally the best time for Porto holidays is late spring (April-May) or late summer (September-October), when the weather is still good but the peak summer crowds have dispersed. Fall is also a popular time to visit for grape harvest season, though winter is the cheapest time to visit. If hot weather is what you’re after then go during the summer – just be prepared to share Porto with a few extra visitors.
Porto has warm summers reaching highs of 25ºC (77ºF) in July. January is the coldest month at around 10°C (50°F). Spring and fall are mild, ranging between 8°C to 19°C, getting much cooler in the evenings. Though Porto is one of the wettest cities in southern Europe this mostly occurs during fall and winter, as well as April which is a particularly rainy month.
