From ragged mountaintops and spectacular waterfalls to vibrant markets and fine wineries, Chile has much to offer.
The Andes provides a striking backdrop to Chile's capital, Santiago, a modern South American city framed by these imposing primeval monoliths. To get a flavour of the city, head to Mercado Central for the sights and and smells of the fish market where you can try exquisite seafood. Let us take you to the nearby Maipo district for an exclusive visit to a winery, where you'll enjoy a delicious alfresco meal served in the gorgeous grounds. The winemaker will show you the process from grape to bottle, and of course you will get to sample some of the best wines Chile has to offer.
Puerto Montt is a port city that drinks from the Golfo de Ancud. This tidy little city's streets are lined with well-appointed wooden houses surrounded by gardens of dahlias and roses. Here you can visit the Angelmo fish market, dine in a cocineria where you'll see your meal being prepared, and sample some of the country's best pastry, a legacy of the German colonisation two centuries ago. Climb the hills for a splendid view of the bay and Isla Tenglo, and take a trip north to nearby Frutillar, a charming city on the banks of Llanquihue Lake. Admire views of the verdant forests, rolling fields, the black-sanded beach and crystal clear water.
Torres del Paine National Park is a World Biosphere Reserve and one of the most breathtaking parks in Chile. Join us here and our Local Specialist will show you its impressive lakes, rivers and waterfalls which are surrounded by striking mountaintops, awe-inspiring ice fields and sparkling glaciers. The forests are rich with a prodigious array of wildlife including the flightless lesser rhea bird, swooping Andean and the grazing guanaco, similar to a llama. Admire the enormous Salto Grande waterfall and the spectacular Lago Grey glacier, which appears to switch colour as the light changes. In Cueva del Milodón cave you will see the huge fossil of a prehistoric ground sloth and its full-sized replica.
