Welcome to Idaho Falls! You’ll begin your small group tour - Yellowstone, The Tetons and Glacier National Park, at this small town on the Snake River. Tucked in the Rocky Mountains, you’ll feel the spirit of outdoor adventure as soon as you settle in. Meet your Travel Director and fellow companions for a Welcome Reception and toast to seven days of exploration.

Kick off your vacation as we head to Wyoming, where you'll be taking to the water on a scenic boat trip across Jenny Lake. You’ll feel like you’re in a landscape painting admiring the snow-capped peaks of the Tetons and breathing in the fresh mountain air. You’ll arrive ready to put boots to ground on a hike to Inspiration Point where you’ll encounter a cascading waterfall and spectacular views across Grand Teton National Park. Next up, enjoy more sightseeing in the Tetons at the Chapel of the Transfiguration, Mormon Row, or one of the many scenic spots in the area to capture the vast wilderness. Reaching Yellowstone National Park packed with beautiful hikes, grand vistas, you'll want to make the most of every moment. This afternoon hike the Clear Lake Artist Point Loop Trail for a moderate 3.9-miles, and as you circle the lake you’ll get a taste of the highlights of Yellowstone, from forests to wildflowers and a Grand Canyon overlook. Then let your Travel Director lead the way to the best of Yellowstone sightseeing around the Artist Point area and even more of the park. This evening head back to the lodge to rest up for your next big day in Yellowstone.

Day 3
Adventure Time in Yellowstone
Rise and shine and beat the rush to see the best of Yellowstone on a morning hike. You’ll take the Grand Prismatic Overlook trail before the crowds arrive, gradually climbing 105 feet to a view across Grand Prismatic Spring and the Midway Geyser Basin. If you’re up for another hike, tackle the Fairy Falls Trail for a flat, easy 4.5-mile hike to Fairy Falls, one of Yellowstone's most spectacular waterfalls. This afternoon, let your Travel Director lead the way to more Yellowstone sightseeing as you make your way from Lower Geyser Basin and Grand Prismatic Spring to the Upper Geyser Basin and Old Faithful. You’ll be surrounded by pine, mountains of a grand scale, and bubbling geysers and feel like you're in an alien land as these gurgling pots make their presence known all around you. At Old Faithful, stand back and enjoy the show. And if it’s winding down, rest assured that Old Faithful will spout up again shortly. You’ll return to your lodge ready to relax and take in a mountain sunset or review all those incredible photos from the day.

Day 4
Discover Big Sky Country
Start the day and Dive Into Culture at Madison Buffalo Jump, learning how this massive semicircular cliff was used by Native Americans for 2,000 years as the site for stampeding herds of bison off the edge. Then go from land to water relaxing over lunch at the marina on the Missouri River followed by a Gates of the Mountains boat tour. (Seasonal) Keep watch for wildlife, from Bighorn sheep to black bears then get up close to Native American pictographs painted on the rock walls that will transport you to another time.

Day 5
Unlock Montana History
Your day begins enjoying a peaceful respite in Montana’s grand surroundings at the Garden of One Thousand Buddhas. Tucked into a quiet valley, this public park, botanical garden, and center for Tibetan Buddhism welcomes you with its 1,000 made-in-Montana images of the Buddha arranged in the shape of an eight-spoked Dharma wheel. Stroll among the sculptures learning about their symbolism or simply enjoy the beauty of this pastoral land dotted with artwork, unique structures, and meditative ponds. Then you’re off for a Be My Guest lunch and MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience at Salish Kootenai Native American College. You’ll enjoy a hosted tour, indigenous arts and crafts workshop, and lunch from a local, indigenous-inspired food truck while learning how the college’s mission is to provide quality educational opportunities and support for Native Americans. Wind down your day with a scenic drive along Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi, on your way to Whitefish. Arriving at this adventure hub, you have the evening to explore the town’s many shops and restaurants or stay in and bask in the view of the distant mountains.

Start the Morning with Peace and Beauty
Make the most of your final day on your Montana vacation with a Glacier National Park sightseeing tour led by your Travel Director. See the stunning Saint Mary Lake and historic Rising Sun Motor Inn before driving along the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road to Logan Pass and the Continental Divide. With majestic scenery, flowering valleys, and open prairies greeting you from all sides, you’ll be glued to the window and snapping postcard-worthy pictures the whole way. You’ll love your memorable lunch spot today, as we stop for a picture-perfect picnic lunch—a great way to experience the stunning vistas of the park, only possible in your small group. Whether relaxing along the shores of Lake McDonald or grabbing a picnic table at Avalanche or Rising Sun, trust that your Travel Director will find the perfect spot to make the most of this iconic park’s stunning vistas while enjoying fresh, local food and drink. Back in Whitefish for your last evening, celebrate all you’ve experienced over a Farewell Dinner with your travel mates.
It’s been an epic seven-day Montana tour, but sadly all good things must come to an end. Enjoy a final, filling breakfast in Whitefish before you are transferred to the Kalispell airport by noon.

Situated on the edge of a broad valley carved by the Madison River, this high limestone cliff was used by Native Americans for 2,000 years - ending as recently as 200 years ago. Native people stampeded vast herds of bison off this massive semicircular cliff, using them for food, clothing, shelter & provisions. 0.5 mi hike to the overlook.

This is an “Active” lifestyle itinerary, with walks and hikes most days. Hikes will range from very gentle to strenuous. No technical climbing skills are required but a reasonable level of fitness is recommended to make the trip more enjoyable. Understanding that not all people want to hike at the same pace or even on the same trail we will where possible host map orientations and then let everyone disperse to enjoy the trails best suited to them.

What is an Active Trip? This is an "Active" lifestyle itinerary, with walks and hikes most days. Hikes will range from easy/moderate to strenuous. No technical climbing skills are required but a reasonable level of fitness is required to make the trip more enjoyable. Understanding that not all people want to hike at the same pace or even on the same trail we will, where possible, host map orientation and then let everyone disperse to enjoy the trails best suited to them. Weather & Altitude While the itinerary is laid out below, we are at the mercy of the weather and so reserve the right to adjust the program as necessary. Please keep in mind that the higher elevations and possible variations in weather and temperature can increase the perceived level of difficulty of our activities. Elevation ranges up to 9,000 feet for Utah’s Mighty Five and up to 11,000 feet for California High Country Adventure.
Everyone reacts differently to altitude and so if you do have any health issues you should check with your doctor that this trip is suitable for you.
