Prepare for a spellbinding encounter with nature – an untamed landscape of fjords, lakes and dense forests that begins in the understated capital of Oslo, set within beautiful natural surrounds. We journey along the shores of the Tyrifjord to the ski resort of Geilo with its scenic location at the foot of Hallingskarvet, before continuing across the Hardanger Plateau to Voringfoss, a cascade of water that plunges impressively into the Måbødalen Canyon below. We continue to Hardangerfjord – its title as the 'Queen of the Fjords' is well deserved and you'll have an opportunity to admire its deep blue waters as you travel along part of its shoreline to your hotel in Norheimsund where you will dine tonight.
An insight into one of Norway's most important industries. Follow the life cycle of the salmon in the fjord before trying some of Norway's tastiest export.

Itinerary met our expectations. Coach was excellent. The hotel selection could be improved. Clarion Collection Hotel bastion in Oslo should not be used, very disappointing and gets the tour off to a bad start. The Sognefjord Hotel Leikanger was a very average hotel in the middle of nowhere with few options to do anything. We would have preferred a Norwegian tour guide, even though our tour guide was excellent.
The trip was well organized, the places we visited were awesome, the hotels were pleasnt and hight class, the transportation was excellent with a very professional driver/ The reason that I did not give 5 stars to this trip is the in the past I had much more knowledgeable tour directors, both about the country we are visiting and in general. We were shown videos about Norway but this cannot be a substitute for an intimate knowledge of the country. Maybe the Tour director (new denomination) is not meant to be a guide

What is an Active Trip? This is an "Active" lifestyle itinerary, with walks and hikes most days. Hikes will range from easy/moderate to strenuous. No technical climbing skills are required but a reasonable level of fitness is required to make the trip more enjoyable. Understanding that not all people want to hike at the same pace or even on the same trail we will, where possible, host map orientation and then let everyone disperse to enjoy the trails best suited to them.
What to Pack Guests should bring lightweight hiking shoes or boots, broad brimmed sun hats, sunglasses, layered clothing, reusable water bottle(s), a hiking day pack and hiking poles (optional)
Weather & Altitude While the itinerary is laid out below, we are at the mercy of the weather and so reserve the right to adjust the program as necessary. Please keep in mind that the higher elevations and possible variations in weather and temperature can increase the perceived level of difficulty of our activities. Elevation ranges up to 9,000 feet for Utah’s Mighty Five and up to 11,000 feet for California High Country Adventure.
Everyone reacts differently to altitude and so if you do have any health issues you should check with your doctor that this trip is suitable for you.
